Alternative Trail to Mount Manaslu Built

District Natural Disaster Relief Committee, Gorkha has said a new trekking trail from Arughat to Philim of Sirdibas VDC has been built as an alternative to the Manaslu Trekking Trail which has been damaged in different places after the earthquake.

Government officially reopens heritage sites for visitors

The government has reopened most of the cultural heritage sites that were damaged by the earthquake of April 25 in its efforts to lure back foreign tourists to the country.

Six of the seven UNESCO World Heritage sites closed after the quakes have reopened from Monday. Minister for Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation Kripasur Sherpa announced reopening of the sites at a function organized at Bhaktapur Durbar Square on Monday morning.

Kathmandu has listed in TripAdvisor's top destinations list

TripAdvisor, world's largest travel site, has listed Kathmandu in the list of 25 destinations in its 'Travelers' Choice Destinations 2015' list. The site has placed Kathmandu 19th position.

Flights Continues at Tribhuwan International Airport (TIA)

Some 30 international flights have taken off and landed at the Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA) since last night through this morning.

The TIA had resumed services following the clearance of crash-landed Airbus of Turkish Airlines from the runway of the only international airport of Nepal.

TIA, Nepal's only international airport, has remained closed for the last three days after an Airbus A330 aircraft of Turkish Airlines skidded off the runway while trying to land in Kathmandu on Wednesday. Efforts are underway to remove the aircraft from the runway.

Nepal has been listed on ten coolest places to visit in 2015

Nepal has been listed as the top ten coolest countries in the world to visit in 2015 by the popular Forbes magazine based in the US.

Nepal, a country with the most diverse topography with the highest peak in the world to tropical lowlands, is placed in the 9th position in ´The Ten Coolest Places to Visit in 2015´ in the magazine´s latest edition contributed by scribe Ann Abel.
