Kathmandu is the capital city of Nepal and is the most urbanized place in the country. Centralization to Kathmandu is practiced in the country that makes it the most developed one. Any kind of official tasks of Nepal is carried out here. Along with this fact, most of the population all around the country prefer to migrate here as the city provides higher level of job, education and lifestyle than any of the town in the entire Nepal.
Kathmandu is known to be counted among the least expensive cities of the world. Places inside the valley such as Patan, Kirtipur and Bhaktapur are considered as the sister cities of Kathmandu. Along with them, Banepa, Dhulikhel and Panauti are sub-urban areas situated just outside of the valley. Kathmandu covers an area of 50.67 square kilometers, and similarly, the census of 2011 counts the population of this city as 13,225 per square kilometer. The average altitude of Kathmandu is 1,400 meters above the sea-level.

It is homeland to outnumbered temples, monasteries and Boudha Gumbas. Some of the sites such as Durbar Squares of Bhaktapur, Patan and Kathmandu have been declared as World Heritage Sites by the UNESCO including other sites such as Pashupatinath, Boudhanath, Swayambhunath and the Changu Narayan temple. Aside to these, there exists art and cultural that reflects the cultures of ancient times in the form of Statues, marble slates, museums, art galleries and cuisines that provide you typical Nepalese food items.
Most of the population of Kathmandu Valley are followers of Hinduism and Buddhism. Hinduism is the primary religion of the country and Buddhism is the secondary religion including others such as Muslim. I did a half-day Trisuli Rafting trip with this company “Gold Mountain Nepal Treks & Expedition Pvt Ltd” on April-2015 & was very interesting. Round trip transportation from Kathmandu, a meals & guided rafting was managed by Mr Bishnu (MD of the company). The cost which was provided to me was also reasonable. The rafting guide focuses on safety and professionalism.
Leon Van Beugen,
From 20th of December 2014 to 5th of January 2015 we went spent some gorgeous weeks trekking in the Annapurna region. First, we hiked to Poon Hill which rewarded us with a very nice sunrise. Then, we continued our trekking to the Annapurna Base Camp (ABC). Both at the ABC and on the way to and from it, we were blessed with amazing sunsets and sunrises. We even saw monkeys and eagles. Views were spectacular and the weather was great.
The organization of the trek was immaculate. All transfers (Kathmandu airport – Hotel – Pokhara– Kathmandu Hotel – airport) were perfectly organized. In addition, both the guide and porter did a great job. They were very flexible and always agreed when we wanted to change the program. This allowed us to reach the ABC two days earlier than planned and gave us more time to visit additional places when going down. We also paid a visit to hot springs which was very nice. In sum, we recommend Gold Mountain Nepal Treks & Expedition as a reliable trekking agency which is very eager to comply with the customers’ wishes.

Me and my friend Matilde just finished the "Annapurna Base Camp Trek” with Gold Mountain Nepal Treks & Expedition in this October of 2014. Gold Mountain Nepal Treks provided us helpful, friendly and knowledge guide & Porters as well. Our guide “Navaraj” was really knowledgeable about the entire area, and everything related with the trekking.
All accommodation was also perfect in Kathmandu, Pokhara and trekking areas of Annapurna.
I give my highest recommendation to Gold Mountain Nepal Treks. Their prices are also very aggressive.
